Southwestern Oregon Community College is very fortunate to be the home of the renowned Oregon Coast Culinary Institute (OCCI)
A variety of certificates and degrees are offered, including two management degrees which articulate into Southern Oregon University’s hospitality and tourism program. Students and faculty compete throughout the year, having won many awards regionally, nationally, and internationally. In addition, OCCI students have opportunities to hone their skills outside the classroom through culinary competitions.
Oregon Coast Culinary Institute (OCCI) at Southwestern was granted accreditation by the American Culinary Federation (ACF). This accreditation is the highest level available for initial accreditation by the ACF – the premier professional chefs’ organization in North America, focusing its efforts on offering education, apprenticeship and industry certification. With the ACF accreditation, OCCI’s graduates can gain the title of certified culinarian upon graduation, along with their associate’s degrees.
